About Spice Souk
Your nose arrives before you do. On Baniyas Street, in Al Ras, open sacks display spices and herbs from Arab and South Asian kitchens, alongside incense, frankincense, teas, fabrics and rugs. It is the quickest way to understand Dubai's food without taking a bite.
Here the price is a conversation: almost everything is negotiable. The market has shrunk in recent years, with competition from supermarkets, so do not expect a maze: in under an hour you can cover it all and still cross over to the Gold Souk.
