About Karon Viewpoint
Locals call the spot Kho Sam Haad, roughly the hill of the three beaches, and it is hard to find a better description. From the edge of the coastal road between Kata and Nai Harn, you see in a line Kata Noi right below, Kata in the middle with the islet of Koh Pu in front, and the long strip of Karon in the distance, running north.
Many residents still call it Kata Viewpoint, the name from its early days. Entry is free, the viewpoint is open around the clock and the parking lot is large. The prettiest light comes between 4 and 5 p.m.; at noon, with the sun directly overhead, the photo loses its charm.
