The Broad's honeycombed facade lit at night in a wide frontal view, with the street in the foreground.

The Broad

Contemporary art on Grand Avenue, with a honeycombed facade and galleries that make you alternate between looking at a work and wondering how it ended up there.

  • Suggested time:1.5 to 2 hours
  • Area:Downtown — Bunker Hill

About The Broad

The facade looks like a white lattice wrapped around the building. Inside, The Broad gathers contemporary art next to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, in Downtown. Scale, color and materials tell the story too: pick a few works to look at closely instead of turning the museum into a photo catalog.

General admission is usually free. Yayoi Kusama's mirrored installation has its own reservation, and exhibitions change; also check the visiting conditions during the museum's expansion.
