About Acropolis of Athens

Up there, the Parthenon shares the spotlight with the Erechtheion and the monumental gateway of the Propylaea. The Acropolis is a complex of sanctuaries on a rock, and walking it helps you understand why the temple shows up so often on the skyline. It's worth looking at the smaller buildings before fighting for the same frame as everyone else.

Go up at your reserved time, ready for uneven paving. In hot weather, choose the earliest slots available; the museum at the foot of the hill requires its own ticket.
