About Jalan Tan Hiok Nee

Follow the line of narrow facades and let the café pick your first stop. Jalan Tan Hiok Nee is lined with traditional shops and cafés; Jalan Dhoby and Jalan Ibrahim extend the walk. Nearby is Hiap Joo, a bakery known for its banana cake: ask when the next batch comes out.

Notice the doors, signs and covered walkways, then pair the street with the Chinese Heritage Museum. Between one facade and the next, a seated break is fully justified on architectural grounds.
